About the Oracle Photo Showcase
- Welcome to the “Oracle Staff & Friends Photo Showcase”
- an initiative driven by photography enthusiasts from within Oracle Corporation with the primary aim of fostering a photographic community of participants interested in sharing their favourite images with Oracle Staff & Friends.

Guidelines for Participation in the Monthly Competition
Participation in the “Photo Showcase” is open to all current and past employees of Oracle and their friends, anywhere in the world regardless photographic skill level.
Images are submitted monthly and hosted on a web site with a separate gallery created for each calendar month.
Each participant can submit up to a maximum of two photographs each calendar month, usually in line with a published "theme". All photographs complying with the guidelines (see below) will be posted to the “oracle_showcase” website which can be accessed through the link: www.pbase.com/oracle_showcase
There is a monthly competition and all submitted photographs will be part of this competition. Judging of the monthly gallery is open to all Oracle staff and friends, regardless of whether they have submitted an image or not. A link to the voting form is posted on this Blog when a gallery is open for voting.
Guidelines:
1. Images should be sent to oracle.showcase@gmail.com with the filename in the subject (see naming convention below).
2. The maximum number of photographs that can be submitted by each participant for each monthly gallery is two.
3. Photographs should be submitted prior to or during the calendar month to be displayed.
4. All images submitted must have been taken no more than 12-months prior to the date of submission.
5. Monthly galleries will be regularly “themed”. Themes for upcoming galleries will be displayed on this blog.
6. All images must follow the naming convention: title_photographername_GEO.jpg
Where: "title" is whatever short title you give the image up to 12 characters; "photographername" is first initial of first name followed by last name, so for John Doe it would be JDoe; and "GEO" is the photographers country of residence, i.e. AU for Australia, SG for Singapore, etc.
As an example a typical filename for John Doe working in Sydney might be: Sunrise1_JDoe_AU.jpg
7. File Sizing
Maximum horizontal width of an image is 800 pixels; and maximum vertical measurement is 600 pixels, however please be careful to maintain your original aspect ratio. Images submitted should be sRGB or Grayscale JPEG files, no larger than 250 Kb.
8. The use of image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop.
Creative or experimental photographs including digital enhancement or manipulation can be submitted as part of any monthly gallery. The final image however, must always have a basic photographic image, which must have been exposed by the entrant. All manipulation needs to have been performed by the entrant.
9. Copyright
You must be the copyright holder (as well as being the photographer) of any images you submit for the showcase.
